Table of Content Turning System ON and OFF Connecting a Device Using Zoom Need Tech Help? Turning System ON and OFF To Turn On Use the touch panel to select an imput. The available sources are: PC- Desktop PC Laptop - USB-C Connection AirMedia - Wireless Connection To Turn Off *Note: Please make sure to turn off the system before leaving the room. Press the "EXIT" button on the top right corner of the touch screen. When it asks if you are sure you would like to power the system down, press "YES." Connecting a Device Personal Laptop For personal devices, plug in your device using the USB-C cable in the room. Select "Faculty/User Laptop" as the source on the touch panel. Adjust the audio with the volume control on the right. AirMedia For AirMedia, connect the AirMedia adapter to your USB-C port on your laptop. Select "AirMedia" as the source and send to left/right display. It is also possible to open Chrome or Firefox and enter the AirMedia IP address (10.103._._) in the lower left corner of the display to connect to it as a website. You would then follow the directions found there to download AirMedia on your device and enter the 4-digit cod that pops up on the display. Using Zoom When using Zoom on the room PC, please follow the instructions below. Access Zoom either by clicking the desktop icon or via Bridges. Login using your RWU Microsoft credentials. We recommend doing a mic and speaker test via the Zoom settings. The camera controls are on the touch panel. The available sources are: PC- Desktop PC Laptop HDMI -HDMI Connection Doc Cam - Document Camera Connecting a Device Personal Laptop Laptops can be connected via the VGA cable, which has a USB-C adapter attached to it. For audio, plug the mini cable into the headphone jack. The USB Cable coming out of the cubby can be plugged into a laptop to connect the camera and mic to that device. DVD If using a disc, we recommend using the PC disc drive. Room Features Audio/Visual The Pic Mute button is available to hide the projected image from the class. To raise or lower the volume, use the knob on the Extron panel. The room camera and microphone can be controlled from the UCI Viewer icon on the desktop of the PC. After clicking on the room name, you can pan and tilt the camera, as well as zoom in and out. Zoom Setup Accessing On the room PC, zoom can be accessed via the desktop icon or via bridges. Please log in through the Single Sign On (SSO) when using the icon, as it uses your Microsoft credentials. Table of Content Turning System ON and OFF Connecting a Device Using Zoom AV Features Need More Help? Turning System ON and OFF To Turn On To begin using the room, tap on the screen. If the screen has gone to sleep you will need to tap once to wake the touch panel and then a second time to move past the Roger Williams University logo. Press your desired source to activate the projector. The available sources are: Laptop - USB-C PC - Room Computer AirMedia - Wireless Connection To Turn Off *Note: Please make sure to turn off the system before leaving the room. Press the red Exit button, and confirm the shut down by pressing Yes. Connecting a Device Personal laptop Laptops are connected via the USB-C cable located in the Desk Cubby. This USB-C cable will also connect to the remote learning technology. AirMedia Laptops: Open web browser and enter the URL at the bottom of the screen. Download AirMedia for your system. Next, enter the 4-digit code located at the bottom corner of the screen. To disconnect, exit AirMedia on the laptop. Smart Devices: Download the Creston AirMedia app to the device you want to connect. Open the app and enter the URL. Tap Present with AirMedia. Enter the 4-digit code to connect. *Note: For iPads, an AirPlay prompt appears with instructions after entering the URL. To disconnect, exit the AirMedia app. Using Zoom Access Zoom can be accessed via the desktop icon or via Bridges. Please log in through the Single Sign On (SSO) when using the icon. It uses your Microsoft credentials. In the Zoom audio and video settings, please make sure Echo Cancelling Speakerphone (GHH-301-LAPTOP1) and GHH-301-LAPTOP1 are selected. The USB-C cable coming our of the cubby can be plugged into a laptop to connect the camera and mic to that device. The room camera can be controlled from the Camera Controls button on the touch panel. You can pan and tilt the camera, as well as zoom in and out. Table of Content Turning System ON and OFF Using the Lenovo Computer Connecting a Device Need More Help? Turning System ON and OFF To Turn On Use the Samsung remote. Press the Red Power button (lower-right corner of the remote). Once the TV is on, press the [SOURCE] button. Use the arrow buttons to select the desired source. Press [ENTER] to confirm. The available sources are: HDMI1 – Lenovo Computer HDMI2 – HDMI connection for a laptop PC – VGA connection for a laptop To Turn Off *Note: Please make sure to turn off the system before leaving the room. When finished, shut off the TV. Press the "POWER OFF" button (upper-right corner of the remote). Return the keyboard, mouse, and remote to the table below the TV Using the Lenovo Computer The computer is mounted on the wall behind the TV. To turn it on, press the power button on the front of the computer. Keyboard, mouse, and remote should be left on the table below the TV. Connecting a Device Personal Laptop The room has HDMI and VGA cables. Adapters are available for checkout at the Media Tech Desk, located near the entrance of the university library. Need More Help? GSB Classroom Guide Technology Set-up: Mounted TV with Poly Camera Table of Contents How to Turn On and Off Connecting Wirelessly with Windows Laptop Connecting Wirelessly with Apple Laptop Using the Poly Camera Need Tech Help? How to Turn On and Off You can turn the system on and off using the Samsung TV Remote Control. *Note: Please make sure to turn off the TV before leaving the room. Connecting Wirelessly with Windows Laptop To connect to the TV , you will be using Air Media. The Air Media screen will appear. An IP address will be visible in the lower left hand corner of the TV monitor (“10.103.___.___”). On your device, enter this number into the web address area of Chrome or Firefox. This brings you to a page to download the Air Media software. Once the software is downloaded and opened, a 4-digit number will appear on the TV monitor. Enter this number into the box that pops up on your device. This connects the device image/sound to the monitor. Connecting Wirelessly with Apple Laptop To connect to the TV , you will be using Air Media. The Air Media screen will appear. An IP address will be visible in the lower left hand corner of the TV monitor (“10.103.___.___”). On your device, enter this number into the web address area of Chrome or Firefox. This brings you to a page to download the Air Media software. Once the software is downloaded and opened, the Air Media with corresponding room number will appear as a mirroring option. Select that to display your device. This connects the device image/sound to the monitor. Using the Poly Camera To use the Poly camera and mic above the screen: Plug the USB cable coming out of the table cubby into your device. You will then see it as an option in the audio/video settings of Zoom, Microsoft Teams, or other video conferencing software. Need Tech Help?
