Law Classroom Guide Technology Set-up: Mounted TV with Mini PC Table of Contents How to Turn System On and Off Using Room PC Connecting a Laptop Need Tech Help? How to Turn System On and Off You can turn the system on and off using the Samsung TV Remote Control. *Note: Please make sure to turn off the TV before leaving the room. To Turn On Point the remote to the lower right-hand corner of the TV and press the red power button. To change the source display, press the Source button at the center of the remote and use the arrow buttons below to navigate the available sources. Press the Enter button to select the source. The available sources are: DisplayPort- Room PC (Dell mini Computer) HDMI- Laptop Connection To Turn Off Point the remote to the lower right-hand corner of the TV and press the square Off button beside the power button. Using Room PC * The Keyboard and Mouse for the Room PC should be left on the counter below the TV. The Room PC is located behind the TV screen, mounted to the wall. To turn on the Room PC, press the Power Button located at the front, along the bottom, of the PC. Connecting a Laptop An HDMI connection is available in the room. This allows you to connect your laptop to the TV. Adapters are available for the HDMI cord. If there aren't any in the room for your device, you can check one out from the MediaTech Desk in the Main Campus Library. Need Tech Help? Table of Content Turning System ON and OFF Connecting A Device AirMedia Using Zoom AV Mute Need More Help? Turning System ON and OFF To Turn On If the screen is black, tap it to turn it on. Wait for the System to Startup Once ready... Select the source to display. The available sources are: PC- Desktop PC Air Media - Wireless presentation Faculty User/ Laptop To Turn Off *Note: Please make sure to turn off the system before leaving the room but leave the PC on. On the touch panel, press the button in the upper right corner "Power," Confirm by selecting "Yes". Connecting A Device Personal Laptop In this room, there is one USB-C cable coming up from the table cubby that will connect both your video and audio connections to the room system. Adapters are available for check out at the MediaTech Desk, located by the main entrance of the University Library. AirMedia Using AirMedia To connect wirelessly, you can use AirMedia. There are two options on how to connect. 1. Using the AirMedia adapter located under the Room Laptop desk. 2. Connecting through the AirMedia App. Using the Adapter Located on the side rack near the PC monitor Connect the adapter to the USB-C port on your laptop. Select the AirMedia Button on the Crestron Panel The adapter will turn on a green light and the screen will project. Using the AirMedia App 1. You can connect by opening up Chrome or Firefox and entering the Display screen's Crestron AirMedia IP Address located at the lower left hand corner of the TV monitor (“10.103.___.___”). This will bring you to the AirMedia Homepage. Select "Start Presenting". 3. Go to the bottom of the AirMedia information and select the link that reads "Want to connect with the AirMedia Application Instead?". This will bring you to another page where you can start the download of the application onto your device. *The download process only needs to occur the first time you are connecting to AirMedia. Once downloaded onto the device, you will not need to download again to connect. 4. Once the download has started, click on the option to "keep" when the file download bubble appears at the top right of the screen. 5. Once the download is finished, a pop up window for Crestron AirMedia will appear. Click on the blue "Agree" button to continue. This will bring you to the next page which will ask about "Session Delegation". Select "Ask me" and click on the blue "OK" button. 6. The Crestron AirMedia Application pop up will then ask for a four-digit Code to be typed in. The code will appear on the TV Monitor screen. 7. You will receive a Windows Firewall pop up after typing the code. Click on the "Allow Access" button at the bottom right of the pop up. 8. Congratulations! You are now successfully connected AirMedia. The Crestron AirMedia screen on your device will look as follows. Please make sure the Screen Sharing is set to "Primary". *If you have a mac laptop, follow the same directions. After downloading the software, the AirMedia with corresponding room number will appear as a "Mirroring Option". Select that to display your device. Using Zoom When using Zoom on the Room PC, please follow the instructions below. If connecting with your device, the USB-C cable from the table cubby takes care of the video and audio connection to the room cameras and ceiling microphone. Access Zoom either by clicking the desktop icon or via Bridges. Login using your RWU Microsoft Credentials. Once open, go to Audio Settings in the lower left and select Echo Cancelling Speakerphone. We recommend doing a mic and speaker test via the Zoom Settings. Select Huddly Crew Cameras, (The cameras work through an AI interface so there are no camera controls or presets. Please allow a few minutes for the cameras to scan the room for people, voices etc. and it will automatically switch from the 3 cameras to whomever is speaking. AV Mute If you need to blank the screen for a portion of the class, Image Mute is available. Press "IMAGE MUTE" on the touch panel. Press "IMAGE MUTE" again to bring back the projection. *Note: This only mutes the projection. The projector is still on. Need More Help? Turning on the TV cart Turn the TV on using thew Samsung remote control, or the power button on the bottom or back right of the monitor. If using the attached PC, make sure it is either behind or below the monitor. Connecting a personal device To use your own device, plug it into the available HDMI cable. You may need an adapter if your laptop does not have an HDMI port. Using the TV remote To switch sources between the PC and laptop, use the "source" button in the middle of the remote. Raise and lower the audio from the settings of the computer, or using the volume buttons on the remote. Zoom and Poly Camera The Camera Works with a PC below or behind the monitor On the PC, zoom can be accessed via the desktop icon or via Bridges. Please log in through the Single Sign On (SSO) when using the icon. It uses your Microsoft credentials. After opening a zoom meeting, the poly unit connects automatically. If not, go to Audio Settings in the lower left and select "Echo cancelling Speakerphone (Polycom Studio)". We recommend doing a mic and speaker test via the zoom settings. The triangular extension mic can be moved to the most effective area in the room. If the middle light is red it is muted. Pressing it will unmute the mic. Need Tech Help? Turning System ON and OFF Turning ON To turn on the projector, press the POWER button, then select the source on the control panel. The following sources are available: Laptop Connection - HDMI Connection AirMedia - Wireless Connection To adjust the volume, turn the knob on the right. Turning OFF *Note: Please turn off the system before leaving the room. When finished press the power button to power off Using AirMedia To project, select the AirMedia source on the wall panel, the AirMedia start-up screen will appear. On the start screen, there is a web address (https://10.103.__.__) type this into your devices browser. This will bring you to the AirMedia download page. Install the app for your device. Then, enter the 4-digit code at the bottom left of the screen under the web address. Your screen will now project. *Note: If you are using a phone or tablet, download the Creston AirMedia app to your device. Follow the steps to input the IP address and code. *Note: For iPads and iPhones, an Airplay prompt will appear instructions after entering the URL. Turning On and Off The System The room technology is controlled by a Crestron panel on the teacher's desk. There are sources for PC, Laptop, Air Media, Blu-ray and Document Camera. Press your desired source to activate the TV monitor. Laptops are connected via the HDMI cable. If you have a USB-C adapter, it can connect to the HDMI cable. To use a wireless connection, select the AirMedia source on the touch panel. An IP address will be visible in the lower left hand corner of the projected image ("10.103._."). Enter this number into the web address area of Chrome or Firefox on your device. This brings you to a page to download the AirMedia software. Once the software is downloaded and opened, a 4-digit number will appear on the projection. Enter this number into the box that pops up on your device. This connects the device image/sound to the projector. To use the Blu-ray player, select that as the source on the Crestron panel. The player itself is in the cabinet to the lower left. Once the disc is inserted, it can be controlled from the touch panel. To use the Document Camera, select it as a source on the touch panel. Make sure the doc cam is on via the power button on the device. The power button lights up blue when on. When done using the system, please turn it off by pressing the red "exit" button and confirming "yes".
