Commons Private Dining Guide Technology Set-up: Projector with Crestron System Table of Contents Crestron Panel Instructions Connecting Personal Laptop Need Tech Help? Crestron Panel Instructions To turn on the system, press on the Crestron Touch Screen Panel. To turn the system off, press on the Exit button at the top right of the screen. Connecting Personal Laptop To connect a personal device, plug the HDMI cable into your device. Make sure the other end of the device is securely plugged into the wall port. Art Classroom Guide Technology Set-up: TV Cart with Polycom System Table of Contents How to Turn System On and Off Using Room PC Connecting a Laptop Need Tech Help? How to Turn System On and Off You can turn the system on and off using the Samsung TV Remote Control. *Note: Please make sure to turn off the TV before leaving the room. To Turn On Point the remote to the lower right-hand corner of the TV and press the red power button. To change the source display, press the Source button at the center of the remote and use the arrow buttons below to navigate the available sources. Press the Enter button to select the source. The available sources are: DisplayPort- Room PC (Dell mini Computer) HDMI- Laptop Connection To Turn Off Point the remote to the lower right-hand corner of the TV and press the square Off button beside the power button. Using Room PC * The Keyboard and Mouse for the Room PC should be left below the TV. The Room PC is located below the TV screen, on the cart. To turn on the Room PC, press the Power Button located at the front, along the bottom, of the PC. Connecting a Laptop An HDMI connection is available in the room. This allows you to connect your laptop to the TV. Adapters are available for the HDMI cord. Classroom Technology Quick Guide Quick Links Crestron Panel Instructions Connecting Personal Laptop Using Blu Ray DVD Player Using Document Camera Using Air Media Done with System? Remote Learning using Q-Sys Need Tech Help? Crestron Panel Instructions This room is controlled by a Crestron panel on the teacher’s desk. There are sources for room PC, laptop, document camera, Blu Ray, and Air Media. Press the RWU splash page and any source to activate the projector. Connecting Personal Laptop Laptops are connected via the HDMI cable coming out of the cubby. *The VGA cable can be used as a back up with USB-C adapter. Once the laptop has been connected, select the Laptop Output button on the Crestron Control Panel. Then, select the cable type connected to the laptop. * Add image of laptop screen Using Blu Ray DVD Player To play a DVD in the classroom, there are two options: either the PC disc drive with VLC Media Player, or the Sony Blu Ray player. For the Sony Blu Ray Player, locate the player under the cubby and turn it on. Once on, insert DVD. On the Crestron Panel, select the Blu Ray DVD Player Output. * Add images of Blu Ray player in the cubby and Crestron Panel Using Document Camera If using the document camera, make sure the power button is on and lit blue, in addition to selecting it as a source on the Crestron panel. * Add image of Crestron panel Using Air Media To use a wireless connection, select the Air Media source on the touch panel. An IP address will be visible in the upper left hand corner of the TV monitor (“10.103.___.___”). Enter this number into the web address area of Chrome or Firefox on your device. This brings you to a page to download the Air Media software. Once the software is downloaded and opened, enter the 4-digit number at the upper right hand corner of the projection into the box that pops up on your device. This connects the device image/sound to the projector. *Add images of Air Media Process + Crestron panel Done with System? Please turn off the system when you are finished. The exit button is in the top right of the Crestron panel. Remote Learning Using Q-Sys On the room PC, Zoom can be accessed via the desktop icon or via Bridges. Please log in through the Single Sign On (SSO) when using the icon. It uses your Microsoft credentials. The room camera can be controlled from the Camera Controls Button on the Crestron Panel. You can pan and tilt the camera, as well as zoom in/out. The USB cable coming out of the cubby can be plugged into the laptop to connect the camera and microphone to that device. In the Zoom Audio and Video settings, please make sure to select Echo Cancelling Speakerphone and Q-Sys Core 110f as the sources. Need Tech Help?
