Quick Guide for GSB 206 Table of Contents Turn on The TV, and Selecting the Source Using The Lenovo Computer Connecting with AirMedia TURN OFF Samsung TV Questions? This room has a Samsung display with a Lenovo computer located behind the TV; and AirMedia to wirelessly connect laptops and devices. Turn on the TV, and Selecting the Source Point the remote to the lower-right corner of the TV, and press the Red Power button. Once the TV is on, press the [SOURCE] button. Use the [◀▶] arrows to select the source, and press the [ENTER] button. Sources Available on the TV HDMI PC - Lenovo Computer PC - AirMedia (wireless connection) Using The Lenovo Computer Set the TV Source to HDMI PC. The computer is mounted on the wall, behind the TV. To boot the computer, press the power button on the front of the computer. Note: The keyboard, mouse, and remote should be left on the table below the TV. Connecting with AirMedia In this room, laptops and devices connect wirelessly via AirMedia. Set the TV Source to PC. On your device, open the web browser, and enter the url: 10.103.61.250 Then Click on the AirMedia download for you system. Next, enter the 4-digit Code to complete the connection. It is located at the upper-right corner of the TV. (The code changes each time.) To End the connection, Exit out of the app on you device. Note: For Apple machines, you will need to re-enter the URL for the IP/Hostname TURN OFF Samsung TV Please shut off the TV, when you are done. The "POWER OFF" button is located on the upper-right corner of the remote. Note: Please return the keyboard, mouse, and remote to the table below the TV. Questions? Need More Help? Table of Content Turning The System ON and OFF Connecting A Device Using AirMedia Need More Help? The CAS rooms are controlled by Crestron panels on the teacher's desk. There are sources for room PC, laptops, document camera, Blu Ray, and Air Media. Press the RWU splash page and any source to activate the projector. Turning The System ON and OFF To Turn On Press the ON button on the control panel. To change the source display, press the Source button. The available sources are: PC- Desktop PC Laptop HDMI -HDMI Connection Doc Cam - Document Camera BluRay - BluRay Discs AirMedia - Wireless Connection To Turn Off *Note: Please make sure to turn off the system before leaving the room. Press the OFF button on the control panel. Connecting A Device Personal Laptop Laptops are connected via the HDMI cable coming out of the cubby. The VGA cable can be used as a backup with a USB-C adapter. Playing a Disc To play a disc, use either the PC disc drive with VLC Media Player or the Sony BluRay player. Document Camera If using the document camera, make sure the power button is on and lit blue, in addition to selecting it as a source on the Creston panel. Using AirMedia Setting Up AirMedia To use a wireless connection, select the AirMedia source on the touch panel. An IP address will be visible in the upper left hand corner of the TV monitor ("10.103._._") Enter this number into the web address area of Chrome or Firefox on the device you are trying to connect. This will being you to a page to download the AirMedia software. Once the software is opened, enter the 4-digit number at the upper right hand corner of the projection into the box that pops up on your device. GSB Classroom Guide Technology Set-up: Room Laptop, Crestron, Air Media, and Projector with Qsys Camera Table of Contents Turning on the System Connecting Personal Laptops Using AirMedia Using Zoom Need Help? Turning on the System Lift the Room Laptop's lid and use the power button above the keyboard to turn it on. If it asks for a password, press enter. Classroom laptops and PC's do not have passwords. Go to the Crestron Panel on the wall to the left of the Laptop and wake it up by pressing on the screen. Once on, select the button that reads Room Computer. Click on the Buttons at the bottom of the screen that read Front Projector and Side Projector. If you wish to only project to one of the screens, only click on the button for that specific projector. Connecting Personal Laptops For personal devices, plug in your device using the HDMI cable in the room. You may need an adapter to connect the cable if your laptop does not have an HDMI port. Once connected, select the button that reads Faculty/User Laptop on the Crestron Panel on the Wall. Click on the Buttons at the bottom of the screen that read Front Projector and Side Projector. If you wish to only project to one of the screens, only click on the button for that specific projector. Using AirMedia To connect wirelessly, you can use AirMedia. There are two options on how to connect. 1. Using the AirMedia adapter located under the Room Laptop desk. 2. Connecting through the AirMedia App. Using the Adapter Located the adapter under the Laptop desk against the wall. Connect the adapter to the USB-C port on your laptop. Select the AirMedia Button on the Crestron Panel The adapter will turn on a green light and the screen will project. Using the AirMedia App 1. You can connect by opening up Chrome or Firefox and entering the Display screen's Crestron AirMedia IP Address located at the lower left hand corner of the TV monitor (“10.103.___.___”). This will bring you to the AirMedia Homepage. Select "Start Presenting". 3. Go to the bottom of the AirMedia information and select the link that reads "Want to connect with the AirMedia Application Instead?". This will bring you to another page where you can start the download of the application onto your device. *The download process only needs to occur the first time you are connecting to AirMedia. Once downloaded onto the device, you will not need to download again to connect. 4. Once the download has started, click on the option to "keep" when the file download bubble appears at the top right of the screen. 5. Once the download is finished, a pop up window for Crestron AirMedia will appear. Click on the blue "Agree" button to continue. This will bring you to the next page which will ask about "Session Delegation". Select "Ask me" and click on the blue "OK" button. 6. The Crestron AirMedia Application pop up will then ask for a four-digit Code to be typed in. The code will appear on the TV Monitor screen. 7. You will receive a Windows Firewall pop up after typing the code. Click on the "Allow Access" button at the bottom right of the pop up. 8. Congratulations! You are now successfully connected AirMedia. The Crestron AirMedia screen on your device will look as follows. Please make sure the Screen Sharing is set to "Primary". *If you have a mac laptop, follow the same directions. After downloading the software, the AirMedia with corresponding room number will appear as a "Mirroring Option". Select that to display your device. Using Zoom When using Zoom on the Room PC, please follow the instructions below. Access Zoom either by clicking the desktop icon or via Bridges. Login using your RWU Microsoft Credentials. Once open, go to Audio Settings in the lower left and select Echo Cancelling Speakerphone. We recommend doing a mic and speaker test via the Zoom Settings. Need Help? GSB Classroom Guide Technology Set-up: Mounted TV with PC and Poly Camera *NOTE: Only the TV with the Poly Camera has a PC behind it. The other TV in the room can be used with a personal device. Table of Contents Turn on the System Wireless Keyboard and Mouse Connecting Personal Laptops Using the Poly Camera for Zoom Need Tech Help? Turn on the System Use the Samsung remote or the power button below the TV monitor to turn on the TV. If you are planning to use the Classroom PC, make sure the PC behind the right side of the TV is turned on. Wireless Keyboard and Mouse For the Room PC system, you will have a wireless keyboard and mouse. They will appear in the Bluetooth devices as Targus devices. To make sure the keyboard and mouse are connected to Bluetooth, use the following steps: Keyboard: Click on the keyboard key above the number pad that has the Bluetooth symbol and a number 1. A blue light will appear above the number pad with the corresponding number. Mouse: left click on the mouse to "wake it up". To make sure it is connected with Bluetooth, flip the mouse over and make sure the light above the Bluetooth symbol and 1 is on. Connecting Personal Laptops For personal devices, plug in your device using the HDMI cable in the room. You may need an adapter to connect the cable if your laptop does not have an HDMI port. The cable and port are located on the wall under the TV. The port and cable may be under a table depending on room layout. To switch sources between Room PC and Laptop, use the Source button in the middle of the remote. To adjust the audio, you can use the audio options on your device as well as the volume buttons on the remote. Using the Poly Camera for Zoom When using Zoom on the Room PC, please follow the instructions below. Access Zoom either by clicking the desktop icon or via Bridges. Login using your RWU Microsoft Credentials. Once open, go to Audio Settings in the lower left and select Echo Cancelling Speakerphone (Polycom Studio).
