Table of Content Turning The Projector on and off Connecting Personal Device AV Mute Need More Help Turning The Projector on and off To Turn On Press the ON button on the control panel. To change the source display, press the Source button. The available sources are: PC- Desktop PC Laptop VGA- VGA Connection Laptop HDMI -HDMI Connection Doc Cam - Document Camera BluRay - BluRay Discs DVD/VCR - DVD Discs & VHS Tapes To Turn Off *Note: Please make sure to turn off the system before leaving the room. Press the OFF button on the control panel. Connecting Personal Device An HDMI or VGA connection is available in the room. This allows you to connect your laptop to the TV. USB-C adapters are available for the HDMI and VGA cords. If there aren't any in the room for your device, you can check one out from the MediaTech Desk in the Main Campus Library. AV Mute Projector If you need to mute the projection/ blank the screen for a portion of the class, there is AV mute available. To activate, press Mute on the control panel. Turning On and Off To Turn On Press the ON button on the control panel at the teacher's podium. To change the source display, press the Source button. The available sources are: Video- Room PC (Dell mini Computer) Laptop- HDMI or VGA Connection with USB-C Adapter To Turn Off *Note: Please make sure to turn off the system before leaving the room. Press the OFF button on the control panel. Connecting Personal Device An HDMI or VGA connection is available in the room. This allows you to connect your laptop to the TV. USB-C adapters are available for the VGA cord. If there aren't any in the room for your device, you can check one out from the MediaTech Desk in the Main Campus Library. AV Mute Projector If you need to mute the projection/ blank the screen for a portion of the class, there is AV mute available. To activate, press Mute on the control panel. To deactivate, press Mute again. Audio To raise or lower volume, use the knob on the Extron panel. Remote Learning Instructions Signing On On the room PC, Zoom can be access through the desktop app icon or via Bridges. Please login using Single Sign On (SSO) when using the icon as it uses your Microsoft credentials. Controls The room camera and microphone can be controlled from the UCI Viewer icon on the desktop of the PC. After clicking on the room name, you can pan and tilt the camera, as well as zoom in/out. If you want to use the camera and microphone on your own device, the USB cable coming out of the cubby can be plugged in to connect *Note: In the zoom audio and settings please make sure Echo Cancelling Speakerphone and Q-SYS Core 110f are selected. Table of Content Turning System ON and OFF Connecting a Device Using Room TVs Using Zoom Room Features Need More Help Turning System ON and OFF Activating the Projector: Log into the MAC computer at the teacher's podium, and use the password "rwuhawks" To activate the projector, press the ON button on the Extron panel. It will take up to 30 seconds to warm up. Make sure MAC is selected for the in-room computer, or LAPTOP if you are using your own device. Connecting a Device Personal Laptop: Plug in the available HDMI cable to your laptop. If your laptop does not have an HDMI port, you may need the USB-C adapter fastened to the cable. Using Room TVs Side TV Monitors: Turn on the TV with the Samsung remote control or the on-board power. AirMedia: AirMedia is connected to HDMI 1. To use AirMedia, make sure the TV is on this source. An IP address will be visible in the lower left hand corner of the TV monitor ("10.103._._") Enter this number into the web address area of Chrome or FIrefox on your device. This brings you to a page to download the AirMedia Software. Once the software is downloaded and opened, a 4-digit number will appear on the TV monitor. Enter this number into the box that pops up on your device. This connects the device image and sound to the monitors. Table of Content Turning System ON and OFF AV Features Connecting a Device Need More Help? Turning System ON and OFF To Turn On To begin using the room, tap the screen on the wall mounted touch panel, then tap it once more to get past the university logo. The available sources are: PC- Desktop PC Laptop USB-C -USB-C Connection AirMedia - Wireless Connection To Turn Off *Note: Please make sure to turn off the TV before leaving the room. Press the Exit button, then press Yes when it asks to confirm you would like to power down the system. Connecting a Device AV Features The Image Mute button is available to hide the projection from the class. To raise or lower the volume, use the buttons on the right. Personal Laptop Press your desired source (Laptop) to activate the projector. Laptops are connected via the USB-C cable located in the desk cubby. This USB-C cable will also connect to the remote learning technology (Zoom). AirMedia Laptops and Smart Devices connect wirelessly via AirMedia. Select the AirMedia source on the Control Panel. Laptops: Open a web browser and enter the URL at the bottom of the screen. Download AirMedia for your system. Enter the 4-digit Code located at the bottom corner of the screen. (Code changes each time.) To disconnect, exit AirMedia on the laptop. Smart Devices: Download the Crestron AirMedia App to your device. Open the App. Enter the URL. Then tap Present with AirMedia. Enter the 4-digit Code to connect. Note: For iPads, an AirPlay prompt appears with instructions after entering the URL. To disconnect, exit the AirMedia App. Using Zoom Accessing the Application Zoom can be accessed via the desktop application or via Bridges. Please log in through the Single Sign On (SSO) when using the icon. It uses your Microsoft Credentials. The room camera can be controlled from the camera control button on the touch panel. You can pan and tilt the camera as well as zoom in and out. The USB-C cable coming out of the cubby can be plugged into a laptop to connect the camera and mic to that device. In the zoom audio settings, please make sure Echo Cancelling Speakerphone (GHH-200-Laptop) and GHH-200-Laptop1 are selected. Need More Help? An IP address will be visible in the lower left hand corner of the TV monitor (“10.103.___.___”). On your device, enter this number into the web address area of Chrome or Firefox. This brings you to a page to download the Air Media software. Once the software is downloaded and opened, a 4-digit number will appear on the TV monitor. Enter this number into the box that pops up on your device. This connects the device image/sound to the monitor. Turning System ON and OFF To Turn On Turn the TV on using the Samsung Remote control or the power button on the bottom or back right of the monitor. If using the attached PC, make sure it is on either behind or below the monitor. To switch sources between PC and laptop, use the source button in the middle of the remote. The available sources are: PC- Desktop PC Laptop - HDMI Connection To Turn Off *Note: Please make sure to turn off the TV before leaving the room. To turn off, press the power button on the Samsung remote or on the bottom or back right of the monitor. Connecting a Device Personal Laptop To use your own device, plug it into the available HDMI cable. You may need an adapter if your laptop does not have an HDMI port. You can borrow these from the Media Tech Help Desk located near the University Library entrance. Using Zoom Accessing the Application On the PC, Zoom can be accessed via the desktop icon or via Bridges. Please log in through the Single Sign On (SSO) when using the icon, it uses your Microsoft credentials. Zoom AV After opening a Zoom meeting, the Poly unity connects automatically. If it does not: Go to Audio Settings in the lower left Select Echo Cancelling Speakerphone (Polycam Studio) We recommend doing a mic and speaker test via the Zoom setings The triangular extension mic can be moved to the most effective area of the room. Connecting a Device Personal Laptop Laptops are connected via the VGA cable, which has a USB-C adapter attached to it for digital connectivity. For audio, plug in the mini cable into the headphone jack. AV Features Pic Mute is available to hide the projected image from the class. Select "PIC MUTE" to turn on the picture mute feature and "blank" the screen. To show the projection, press "PIC MUTE" again. To raise or lower the volume, use the knob on the Extron panel. The room camera and microphone can be controlled from the UCI Viewer icon on the desktop of the PC. After clicking on the room name, you can pan and tilt the camera, as well as zoom in and out. Zoom Access On the room PC, Zoom can be accessed via the desktop icon or Bridges. Please log in through the Single Sign On (SSO) when using the icon as it uses your RWU Microsoft credentials. The USB cable coming out of the cubby can be plugged into a laptop to connect the camera and microphone to that device In the Zoom audio and video settings please make sure "Echo Cancelling Speakerphone" and "Q-SYS Core 110f" are selected.
