Quick Guide - TV with Poly Step 1: Turning on TV Turn the TV on using the Samsung remote control, or the power button on the bottom or back right of the monitor. If using the attached PC, make sure it is on either behind or below the monitor. To use your own device, plug it into the available HDMI cable. You may need an adapter if your laptop does not have an HDMI port. To switch sources between PC and laptop, use the "source" button in the middle of the remote. Raise and lower the audio from the settings of the computer, or using the volume buttons on the remote. Step 2: Camera The camera works with a PC below or behind the monitor. On the PC, Zoom can be accessed via the desktop icon or via Bridges. Please log in through the Single Sign On (SSO) when using the icon. It uses your Microsoft credentials. Step 3: Zoom After opening a Zoom meeting, the Poly unit connects automatically. If not, go to Audio Settings in the lower left and select "Echo Cancelling Speakerphone (Polycom Studio)". We recommend doing a mic and speaker test via the Zoom settings. The triangular extension mic can be moved to the most effective area in the room. If the middle light is red, it is muted. Table of Content Turning System ON and OFF Connecting a Device Using AirMedia Using Zoom Need More Help Turning System ON and OFF To Turn On The room is controlled by a Creston panel on the teacher's desk. The available sources are: PC- Desktop PC Laptop - HDMI Connection Laptop - VGA Connection Doc Cam - Document Camera BluRay Player - BluRay and DVD Discs AirMedia - Wireless Connection Use the "send to" buttons to display the source you selected. *Note: If you change the source, you need to press the "send to" button each time. To display a disc, use either the PC disc drive with the VLC Media Player, or the Sony BluRay player. To Turn Off *Note: Please make sure to turn off the system before leaving the room. Press the "EXIT" button on the top right corner of the touch screen. When it asks if you are sure you would like to power the system down, press "YES." Connecting a Device Personal Laptop Laptops are connected via the HDMI cable coming out of the cubby. You may need an adapter to connect the cable if your laptop does not have an HDMI port. You can borrow one from the Media Tech help desk, located on the first floor of the University Library. Document Camera If using the document camera, make sure the power button is ON and lit blue. Select it as the source on the Creston Panel. Using AirMedia Setting Up AirMedia To use the wireless connection, select the "AirMedia" source on the touch panel. An IP address will be visible in the lower left hand corner of the projection ("10.103._._") Enter this number into the web address area of Chrome or Firefox on the device you are connecting. This brings you to a page to download the AirMedia software. Once the software is downloaded and opened, a 4-digit number will appear on the projection. Enter this number into the box that pops up on your device. This connects the device image and sound to the monitor. *If you have a MAC laptop, follow the same directions. After downloading the software, the AirMedia with corresponding room number will appear as a mirroring option. Select that to display your device. Using Zoom Setting up Zoom Remote Learning Instructions - QSys On the room PC, Zoom can be accessed via the desktop icon or via Bridges. Please log in through the Single Sign On (SSO) when using the icon. It uses your Microsoft credentials. The room camera can be controlled from the Camera Controls button on the Crestron panel. You can pan and tilt the camera, as well as zoom in/out. The USB cable coming out of the cubby can be plugged into a laptop to connect the camera and mic to that device. In the zoom audio and video settings please make sure Echo Cancelling Speakerphone and Q-SYS Core 110f are selected. Connecting a Device Personal Laptop For personal devices, plug in your device using the HDMI cable in the room, located on the wall under the TV or under the table (depending on the room layout.) You may need an adapter to connect the cable if your laptop does not have an HDMI port. You can borrow one from the Media Tech help desk, located on the first floor of the University Library. To switch sources between the Room PC and laptop, use the source button in the middle of the remote. Table of Content Turning System ON and OFF Connecting a Device Using Zoom Need More Help Turning System ON and OFF To Turn On Check inside the desk cabinet, the POWER button is labeled. Make sure it is on. To change the source display, press the SOURCE button on the Samsung Remote. The available sources are: MAC- MAC Desktop Laptop USB - USB Connection Laptop HDMI -HDMI Connection To Turn Off *Note: Please make sure to turn off the system before leaving the room. Press the OFF button on the Samsung Remote. Make sure the MAC computer is OFF as well. Connecting a Device Personal Laptop Connect your device to the HDMI, USB, or Ethernet cables available. When connecting your device, you will need to switch the source using the Samsung Remote. Using Zoom Room MAC Open Zoom via the desktop application or through Bridges. Log in using your RWU Microsoft credentials. Select the appropriate meeting and, if prompted, select "join meeting with computer audio" and the camera will automatically connect. On the room MAC, open the "Camera Controls" application. You will see arrows to adjust the camera angle, options to zoom in/out, and six room camera presets. Personal Laptop Open Zoom via the application or through Bridges. Log in using your RWU Microsoft credentials. Select the appropriate meeting and, if prompted, select "join meeting with computer audio." To select a microphone, select the "Up Arrow" icon next to the "Mute" button on Zoom. Click on the option titled "IOUSB" Microphone. To select a camera, select the "Up Arrow" icon next to the "Stop Video" button on Zoom. Click on the option titled "IOUSB" Camera. When it asks if you are sure you want to shut down, select "yes." Connecting a Device Room PC To use the PC dedicated to the room, make sure it is plugged in and on.
