Importing Course Materials from Bridges to Brightspace

Please NOTE: Bridges courses from Summer 2023-Summer 2026 have already been migrated.
You do not need to bring over this content, unless you are missing question pools or other content.
The full migration of 3 years used Option 2.

Please note Bridges will be decomissioned September 15th, 2026

If you are bringing over older Bridges content, you can import Bridges course information into Brightspace via either the IMSCC course cartridge, which can be extracted from your lessons pages in Bridges, or you can request a course archive file from ID, and then upload it.

Limitations on all course transfers:

Rubrics: As rubrics are not included in the course backup, those will have to be moved over separately.
Question pools: DO NOT TRANSFER with a regular course archive (the one used for the automatic transfer of courses for Summer 2023-Fall 2023).

HOW TO TRANSFER YOUR COURSE CONTENT FROM BRIDGES TO BRIGHTSPACE:

Option 1: How to back up your course and import into Brightspace (IMSCC Cartridge)

Exporting your content from Bridges: (use the "Backup your course" instructions)
Importing your IMSCC course cartridge into Brightspace (video)

Option 2: How to request a course archive and upload it (Course Archive)

Email id@rwu.edu to request a course archive
Once received, use the same procedure to upload the cartridge into Brightspace
