How to create an exam from different exams using Pools

Part I: First create a Question Pool (folder) for the questions:

- Go to Question Pool, then Select "Add New Pool"
- Click Save

Part II: Copy over the questions

Go to the exam you would like to copy the questions out of (go to the draft so you don't have to take it into editing mode) - select "edit".

The next to the part with the questions select "Copy to Pool"

Select the Pool you just created and click Copy

You will do this for every exam you would like to copy the questions out of.

Part II: Create the exam

Once you have add all the questions to the pool, the next step is creating the exam out of those pool questions.

- Create a new exam (Add), Give it a title > Create

You have two options:

1. You can copy all of the questions over at once OR
2. you can create a random draw of those questions (ie. each student gets a different version)

1. To copy over all of the questions at once

Next to Add questions select Copy from Question Pool:

Pick the pool you uploaded the questions to and then select your questions (there is a select all option at the top)
Click Copy when you are done.
All questions and point values will come over.

2. For the random draw:

Select Edit next to the part

Select Random Draw, select how many questions you would like to take from the pool and which pool you would like to take them from.

This will create a unique exam for each person taking it as the questions will be pulled randomly from the pool.
