How to Request LTIs in Bridges and Brightspace: Policies and Installed Tools

LTI Integrations
LTI (Learning Tools Interoperability) provides numerous opportunities for integrating third-party software into a Learning Management system (LMS) to enrich the learning experience. Many publishers and educational software providers often offer LTIs to enable these integrations into LMS’s (Learning Management Systems). They can, for example, offer seamless account management across systems, facilitate direct access to gradebooks or even integrate the application directly into an LMS.

Application Timelines/Policies
LTI requests are temporarily paused until we have migrated entirely over to Brightspace. We appreciate your understanding and encourage you to plan accordingly.
Third party software is not part of the Bridges (Sakai) or Brightspace software suite and therefore requires extensive review and testing prior to integration. In order to protect system data and to ensure system integrity, the review process also requires compliance with FERPA, ADA, as well as vetting of financial risks, legal requirements, security compliance and system limitations.
The time between application and the installation also depends on factors such as tool complexity, vendor time, department availability and queue. On average, the process can take 3-6 months. Please plan your requests accordingly to accommodate this timeline.
Application
Please use the following form to provide any necessary details about installation request. The application will create a request outside of RWU’s ticketing system and you will receive a follow-up email.
